Andy Fogle is the poetry editor of Salvation South, and the author of Mother Countries, Across From Now, and seven chapbooks of poetry, including Arc & Seam: Poems of Farouk Goweda, co-translated with Walid Abdallah. He’s from Virginia Beach, spent years in the D.C. area, and now lives with his family in upstate New York, teaching high school.

Our goal is always to encourage each other and motivate ourselves to be the best writers and thinkers we can be! Prompts are given at each session, often generated by participants, to help writers charge up their creative batteries; however, no hard and fast rule exists about what topics to write about and all ideas are welcome!

His poetic works have been recognized in local, state, and national competitions—twice in Creative York’s “The Writer’s Eye” competition.

Join us for Writers of the White Rose! A writers group that includes taking turns reading each other’s work and sharing our insights using a writer-directed, question-based approach. Our goal is always to encourage each other and motivate ourselves to be the best writers and thinkers we can be! Prompts are given at each session, often generated by participants, to help writers charge up their creative batteries; however, no hard and fast rule exists about what topics to write about and all ideas are welcome!

Our final Renascence poetry reading featuring Pennsylvania’s national treasure of poetry, Le Hinton, followed by open readings. Poet and publisher, Le Hinton is author of seven collections, including: Elegies for an Empire (2023), and Sing Silence (2018), both from Iris G. Press. His work has been widely published and can be found in The Best American Poetry 2014, Baltimore Review, Skinny Poetry Journal, Pleiades, Progressive Magazine, Little Patuxent Review, and elsewhere. His poems have received multiple Pushcart Prize nominations as well as nominated for Best of the Net. His poem “Epidemic” won Baltimore Review’s 2013 Winter Writers Contest. In 2014, it was honored by the Pennsylvania Center for the Book, and in 2021 it was featured on WSPU ‘s Poetry Moment. His poem “Our Ballpark” can be found outside Penn Medicine Stadium in Lancaster, PA, incorporated into Derek Parker’s sculpture Common Thread.
This will be our final second Sunday reading and we will be starting up with second Saturday readings starting in April. Anyone who would like to read after the feature may sign up on the sheet when they arrive that day. Start your week off right by listening to York’s incredible poets!

Come expand your clay knowledge! This class is aimed towards those who have taken Intro to Wheel Throwing or Intro to Handbuilding, or have prior ceramics experience. Learn how to solidify your skills on the wheel and become and stronger ceramicist!

Learn how to take your drawing skills to the next level in this week long camp! Students will practice using shading to draw 3D forms to make the composition look like it is jumping off the page. Each registered camper will receive one (1) camp t-shirt for the summer.

Learn the basics of embroidery in this Teen Intensive! Students will learn how to dress a hoop, transfer a pattern, and complete a design using a variety of different stitches. By the end, students will have their own embroidered masterpiece! Each registered student will receive one (1) t-shirt for the summer.
