Writers of the White Rose

Writers of the White Rose
Monday, May 19th from 7-9pm

Join us for Writers of the White Rose! A writers group that includes taking turns reading each other’s work and sharing our insights using a writer-directed, question-based approach. Our goal is always to encourage each other and motivate ourselves to be the best writers and thinkers we can be! Prompts are given at each session, often generated by participants, to help writers charge up their creative batteries; however, no hard and fast rule exists about what topics to write about and all ideas are welcome!
To attend, please RSVP to Chris Koslosky (facilitator) at [email protected].
Chris retired last June from The Janus School in Mount Joy, where she taught Spanish and English Language Arts to middle school and high school students. As a teacher, she has especially relished the teaching of writing, as she is an enthusiastic writer herself and enjoys helping students overcome their fears and doubts about the often intimidating process. At Janus, Chris developed an annual literary magazine showcasing the best student writing of each school year. She has judged student writing in contests including the Scholastic writing competition and a playwriting contest through the Hershey Theatre. Here at Creative York, Chris runs a group called Playwrights of the White Rose, which meets once a month to read and review each other’s playwriting efforts.
Please bring a notebook, a pen, and anything you would like to share with the group!
