Join us on Sunday, June 8th from 2-4pm for a poetry reading! This month’s feature is Stephen Concert, Harveys Lake PA author who has been writing poetry for over 45 years. His poetic works have been recognized in local, state, and national competitions—twice in Creative York’s “The Writer’s Eye” competition.

An award-winning queer poet, Steven is the founder of North 415 Press, an independent publishing venture, and has edited anthologies and manuscripts for a few national organizations. He serves as First Vice-President of the National Federation of State Poetry Societies, and Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Poetry Society.
Steven’s poetry has been recognized in local, state and national competitions. He earned finalist status in NFSPS’ 2021 Barbara Stevens Poetry Manuscript competition. Steven’s work has been published in print and online, and recent credits include: Agates, Common Threads, Discretionary Love, One Art Poetry, Poets Live, and River Poets. He has published seven chapbooks—Too Blind to See (reissued 2024), Standing in the Chaos,  No Mortar Required, and a 2025 three title series, Break the Silence: Book of Queer, Book of Violence, and Book of Retribution—plus one full-length collection, Steer into the Skid.”

Following the feature, we will open the podium up to writers who would like to share their work with the crowd.

Carol Clark Williams

Carol Clark Williams is poet laureate emerita of York, Pennsylvania, and founder of the “Poetry Spoken Here” readings for the open air Yorkfest arts festival. She is a winner of the NFSPS 2022 Stevens Chapbook Poetry Contest. Williams teaches poetry workshops for high school students, senior centers, support groups, and residents of institutions.

Carol’s poems have been published in print and online journals including Broadkill Review, Welcome to the Resistance, Fledgling Rag, Grasslimb, Mad Poets Review, Margie, Byline, PPS Prize Poems, and Encore. Her latest collection of poetry, Unpacking for the Journey, is available on Amazon or from NFSPS.com
