Try It! Adult Poetry Workshop
Friday, September 16th from 6-7:30pm.
Poetry has been defined as “The best words in the best order”. In this workshop, we will start with a long look at words, what they are capable of doing in a poem and how to use them for the best response from your readers. Feel free to bring your own notebook. Let’s work on writing the best poems in the world, using writing prompts and word banks! Then you can share them with the group, polish them to perfection, and explore contests and journals where your poetry can be published.
Carol Clark Williams is poet laureate emerita of York, Pennsylvania, and founder of the “Poetry Spoken Here” readings for the open air Yorkfest arts festival. She is a winner of the NFSPS 2022 Stevens Chapbook Poetry Contest. Williams teaches poetry workshops for high school students, senior centers, support groups, and residents of institutions.
Carol’s poems have been published in print and online journals including Broadkill Review, Welcome to the Resistance, Fledgling Rag, Grasslimb, Mad Poets Review, Margie, Byline, PPS Prize Poems, and Encore. Her latest collection of poetry, Unpacking for the Journey, is available on Amazon or from NFSPS.com
All supplies needed are included, though you are welcome to bring your own notebook if you would prefer.
