Amy Diamond is a senior at Millersville University studying Art education with a concentration in Inclusive Education. Her main focus is in ceramics, and Amy has attended multiple National Conferences dealing with ceramics and art education. While working with her own peers in class and her students in her middle school internship, she’s grown to appreciate the studio culture of collaboration. Amy enjoys learning through play and the educational and cultural benefits of creating art with others. She believes that all individuals have the ability to grow and learn and that art is a pathway to do so.

Holly Davis

Holly Davis BWHolly Davis is an artist, wife and mom from York, PA. She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Beaver College, completed her PA Art teaching certification though Millersville University, and received her Masters in Education from Wilkes University. She also studied at Glasgow School of Art in Scotland and Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina. Holly has exhibited work throughout Pennsylvania, in Scotland, and in North Carolina, and she was the recipient of a PA State Grant for the Arts. Holly loves clay and teaching art, especially ceramics. She has taught artists of every age and has a passion for sharing her appreciation of clay with those she gets to work with.

Emily Bayless

Emily Bayless BWEmily Bayless holds a Bachelors in Ceramics from Arizona State University and received her Masters in Fine Arts, Ceramics from the University of Colorado Boulder. After completing her MFA she lived and worked in London, UK before accepting a position at Millersville University, where she now teaches Ceramics. Her work has been shown widely across the United States, including the State Museum of Pennsylvania and the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art.

Michele Ports Gargiulo

MGargiuloCropMichele Ports Gargiulo is a working artist who works in paint, photography and mixed media. She is best known for her pet portraits. Michele has taught art camps for kids and pet portrait fundraisers to all ages. She was commissioned to paint murals in local restaurants and private residences.  She is active in state animal advocacy and has donated over $10,000 to various animal rescues through her painting workshops.

Ellen Ehlenbeck BW

Ellen Ehlenbeck holds a BFA in painting from Penn State and a MA in graphic design from Savannah College of Art and Design. A working artist, Ellen has exhibited her work widely in the region, in both solo and group shows, as well as juried exhibitions. She loves to teach, and currently serves as a Resident Teaching Artist with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, in addition to teaching courses in art history and painting at the Art Institute of York, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, and Creative York. One of the four founders of Creative York, Ellen is excited about York’s creative renaissance.

Ayala_J BWJustin Ayala is a practicing artist, VJ, and arts educator living in York, PA.  Backed by his Mass Communication degree from York College and 15+ years of education experience, Justin is one of only 350 teaching artists in the state rostered by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Artist in Education program. He has exhibited, taught and preformed extensively throughout the country, has been recognized for best practices in arts education by the state of Pennsylvania, and has served as lead artist for over a hundred public, community murals. Justin’s entire life is propelled by his insatiable passion for creativity and exploration, a passion that is contagious in any classroom he sets foot.

Christina-Fritz BWChristina Fritz graduated from Kutztown University with a degree in Fine Arts, majoring in sculpture. Christina also works with fiber art, including hand-spinning wool and knitting. She fell in love with the creative atmosphere of an abstract classroom while coordinating the Art in the Park program and looks forward to growing her creative processes and sharing art with many ages.

Steph Holmes BWSince receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Millersville University, Steph has taught at multiple art centers and traveled to several craft schools around the country to pick up new creative skills. She currently teaches ceramics, drawing, and mixed media collage classes here at Creative York. Steph believes that art education can be essential to someone’s growth as a person and wants to share and facilitate that growth for other people.

Kayla-Krebs-80x80Kayla Krebs has been working with Creative York/YorkArts since 2009. She is involved in the Art in the Park program, teaching classes, and gallery sitting. In the past, she has been a judge for the Yorkfest Children’s Exhibit and the Yorkfest Chalk Walk contest. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education from Kutztown University.

Allison Seitz

Allison Seitz BWAllison received her Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from Towson University and a Master’s from Millersville University. She lives in Southern York County with her family and has been an elementary school art educator for 20+ years. Currently she teaches for Baltimore County Public Schools in Maryland and has taught there for the last 17 years. Although she has experience in teaching all areas of art, her passion is working with clay. She taught for the Baltimore Clayworks for 4 years and spent 5 summers running her own Creative Clay Camp for kids.
